 News Article 

 Goals:

Students will begin their  news article
Brainstorm topics for their  article
Students will plan their articles via “Organization Sheet” (See top right corner of blog
Students will begin writing interview questions
Students will complete interviews
Students will begin to organize research and interview information
Students will begin rough draft

NEWS ARTICLE 

Tuesday, 10/15-Friday, 10/18

-Students should complete their planning sheets located on the blog

-Students should turn their planning sheets in to Google Classroom on 10/18 to be graded

**ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY MRS. CHRISTIAN or JOSIE BEFORE SETTING UP INTERVIEWS
**TURN YOUR PLANNING SHEET  IN TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM BY THE END OF THE PERIOD ON Friday, 10/18 (Please submit your questions to the entry entitled: STORY ORGANIZATION SHEET

Monday, 10/21-Friday, 10/24- Conduct interviews

-Type interviews when each is completed

-Turn your final set of interview questions in to Google Classroom by 10/25

Students should complete their interviews.  You will need to write passes to the library, cafĂ© and study halls only.

 

Students must type each interview.  They will be turned in to Google Classroom  Students will continue to interview and organize interview answers


FINAL due date: 3:00PM- TBD


**Remember, once you have your interviews, you may start writing your rough drafts
***Even if you don't have all of your interviews completed on any of the days, work on background info and rough draft
Closure Activity:

**PLEASE REMEMBER, YOU CAN BEGIN WRITING YOUR ARTICLE AT ANY TIME. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR INTERVIEWS ARE CONDUCTED.

Rough Drafts are due Wednesday, 10/30

Each Person must have 2 peers proof their article

and

Each person MUST read their article aloud to a peer

The peers should receive a shared version of the article, AND make comments on it
