Students will explore layout of a newspaper


Pick up a copy of the Times Leader or Student Times,
Mark the following layout elements:
1. A five colum layout article
2. A 2, 3,4 and1 colum article.
-you should have marked five articles so far
-please label clearly
3. Top and bottom headlines.... Top should be larger
4. A headline where a comma takes the place of the word "and"
5. Make a note about the layout structure of the classifieds
6. Mark and note the format of an article that is continued
7.mark a headline and a subhead line. That is the smaller headline under the main
8. Circle eac top header of each section
9. Look at the main masthead on page one... Label each element that you see

1. Open your In-Design notes
2. Open your In-Design template in you journalism folder

Thursday, - Students will create interview questions and turn in their planning sheets

Friday- Students will continue to interview and organize interview answers

Monday -completed interviews due by 2:40- If they are not turned in, points will be deducted
