First Interview

  Objective: To introduce students to the field of news writing

Goal: To explore natural instincts during an interview

I. Getting to know the real_____________.

1. Students will create and implement interview questions (At least 15) -You will have a total of 16 questions:  Your first question is always: "What is your name and how do you spell it?"

-type your questions on a Google doc

2. Students will conduct an interview.  Students will take notes during the interview.  Make sure to put quotes around their direct quotations.  (You are trying to capture any amusing or interesting info they discuss with you)

3. Students will return to their seats with their completed interviews

4. A quiz will be passed out to each student

5. Once the answers are filled in, students will give the quiz to their partners

We will then see how well our original interviews worked.
