Video Project -Exploring Adobe

Goal: Students will become familiar with the basic elements of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5

Project:
Here are a few assignments that will allow you to review the skill we have reviewed over the last several days:

Project 1:
1. Create a series of three titles
2. Bring them down to three lines on the timeline
3. Use 2 different transitions to connect them
4. Save and export

Project 2.
1. Use the video clip in the Journalism 1 folder
2. Edit the video to present a clear message
3. Add a lower third
4. Use a transition
5. fade out the video and audio

Project 3
1. Use the same video clip
2. Cut a logical section
3. Divide this video in two
4. Place a different video effect over each video
5. Play with and change the options of the video effects

A. Be sure to create a New Folder for each project
B. Name the folders Project 1, project 2, and project 3
C. Make sure all work is saved in the appropriate folders
D. Be sure to export each project. 
E. Name each one: ex: project 1 export

Project 1

Video- 4/12

1. Students will plan their first video projects

Goal: Students will create a 20 second video entitled I AM?

1. The class will divide itself into 4 groups
2. Students will brainstorm ideas for the project
3. Students will create an overview paragraph
4. Students will create a script stating what will be seen in the video and what will be heard
5. Students will make a list of all filming locations
6. Students must use the following elements:
A. 1 video effect B. Titles C. Fade in/ Fade out (Transitions are optional)

7. Music is optional (There will be several choices in the tvstudio folder under j1music)

8. The video must be exported as IAM in a folder named I AM
**Make a new folder for this project

Students will learn the basic elements of tv production, camera angles and script writing

Quiz

Goal: To introduce students to Adobe Premiere
Students will learn to create Adobe Titles
Students will: "Cut, Use different video lines, create titles, overlap titles, utilize bins, use transitions

Students will complete a Quiz project:
First: make a new folder in tvstudio
Second: Name the folder "video quiz 1"
Third: create a new Adobe project

**Your titles must be saved in the tvstudio "video quiz 1" folder
***Your titles should have unique names
****Your titles should be in a bin

Quiz Directions:
1. Create a full page title with your name
A. You may NOT use a template
B. You must use three types of fonts (throughout this entire project)
C. You must rotate or tilt one word in your title (In the three slides)
D. It must be eye-catching
E. It must be clean and logical

2. Create a second full page title
A. It will have two words that fade in over the original title

(The words will discuss what is covered in Journalism I)

3. Create a third full page title
A. It will have two more words to describe you

By the end, your video must have at least six terms that describe you

4. Put one type of transition between all three titles

Please make sure your hit "SAVE" after each title
and "Save" before closing.

**Do not hit "SAVE AS"

Goal: Students will create three titles on the same video line
